So, about 2 weeks ago, I came across my former hs classmate and friend, Candice Williams of Urby Education In the past 2 weeks, Makemba has learned to read and spell off of just 1 of many lessons...that's 1 lesson in 2 weeks. She and her fellow team members work of developing and designing Common Core aligned materials and assessments for the recently implemented ELA curriculum. The students in my class that Candice was able to offer consistent extra support and was able to exceed their goals. Her guidance has helped teachers effectively look at student work and also review screening and progress monitoring data in order to make deliberate instructional moves.
