About Candice
Hello, I’m Candice Williams M.Ed, my students call me “Mrs.Williams”, but you can call me Candice. I’m an award-winning world renowned Reading Specialist and certified teacher. As the CEO and Founder of Urby Education, LLC I used my 11 years of experience in education to build an online platform to reach more striving readers. Urby Education is an online platform that was designed to support children in grades K – 2 in building their early literacy skills. My goal was to create a space for early readers who wanted a head start in reading, and to meet the needs of children who were striving to become a better reader.
As someone who once struggled with literacy as an adolescent, my passion for creating equity in urban education has driven me to become a trailblazer in early literacy. Urby Education allows parents, children, and teachers to have access to reading support outside of their traditional school. My innovative on demand reading lessons and my partnership with TeeRead, allows children to have 24/7 access to reading foundational skills. Urby Education is a place where teachers can learn from a literacy expert and parents can find solutions to support their reader at home. Most importantly, it’s a space where children can learn at their own pace, without the pressure of mastering skills in a short period of time. Our goal is for children to evolve into confident readers…..also known as a “butterfly”.

The Urby Literacy Remix Course has it ALL! Candice provides so much knowledge and insight, while creating energy, positivity, and fun. So, about 2 weeks ago, I came across my former hs classmate and friend, Candice Williams of Urby Education In the past 2 weeks, Makemba has learned to read and spell off of just 1 of many lessons...that's 1 lesson in 2 weeks. She and her fellow team members work of developing and designing Common Core aligned materials and assessments for the recently implemented ELA curriculum.
